Dear Grade Four Parents,
Celebrating Earth Day, the Grade Four classes will be participating in a shoreline cleanup! All four classes will be joining together with their teachers to tidy up our natural environment (using protective rubber gloves and tongs), which connects to the YACHAD theme this month. Grade four students will be leading the YACHAD assembly in May. The theme is environmental stewardship (Ba’al Tash’chit).
We will be outside for the whole afternoon. Students are encouraged wear boots/sneakers and a rain jacket is recommended in case rain is forecasted. We look forward to a fabulous learning experience.
Students must come in uniform on the day of the field trip. We will not require parent volunteers as we have enough teachers supervising.
Save this notice for the day of the field trip and return the portion below.

Dear Parents and Students,
Grade 4 students were planning on participating in an environmental initiative involving cleanup our local shorelines. Due to this past weeks devastating oil spill in English Bay, next Wednesday's scheduled beach cleanup at Jericho Beach will be postponed until further notice. We will stay in contact with the coordinator at Shoreline Cleanup and hopefully reschedule within the next few weeks.
Thanks for your understanding.
