Dear Grades 4-7 Parents,
Students in grade 4-7 are participating in creating "Gifts of Hope and Compassion." Last week your children participated in a lesson on this amazing initiative. We are hoping that by Monday, March 9th students will be able to bring in wonderful gift bags from home as they will be organized the next day, on Tuesday evening. Who are they for? The Gifts of Hope and Compassion will be handed out to residents of the Downtown Eastside on Wednesday, March 11th by Grade 7 students from Vancouver Talmud Torah, the Shia Ismaili Muslim Community and St. Augustine School. All schools and communities will be creating these gifts. What goes into the "Gifts of Hope and Compassion? Students are encouraged to send things that they think people will need or appreciate having. Here are a few ideas:
After the gifts have been brought in they will be checked over to ensure they all have a message. Please bring the items in a gift bag or a backpack/other bag type package that is giftable. If you have gift wrapped an item, please indicate who you feel would be able to use it best--male/female/anyone. Sincerely, Shoshi Burton & the Grade 4-7 Team
